The problem with hip-hop at the moment is that it lacks substance, a lot of artists sacrifice the message in order to have a hit, there are very few artists that stay true to their craft and make sure that every line they drop in their song is keeping it real with meaning behind it. Coming out of Malton, Mississauga, up and coming artist Malton Laddi is keeping real in his new track, “Glisten“. The track came out early this week and was released through SoundCloud and Youtube. The Hug Da Block composed instrumental sets a more serious vibe, definitely not a turn up or trap track, it is straight lyrics with substance. The hook expresses how if you have an opportunity, take it because it might not always be there for you, Malton Laddi delivers quality bars, not punch lines, but lines filled with meaning. Although it is just a lyric video, the background video was shot in Negril, Jamaica on his phone. The track is the first single off of Malton Laddi’s new mixtape, “Welcome to Malton“, which had been delayed multiple times as Laddi kept getting locked up, was finally released yesterday on Datpiff to be streamed and downloaded, it can also be downloaded directly from here. Check out the dope track below, which is recorded/produced by Nick Freedom and also check out his mixtape.
