Z-Bo – God Bless (Featured Toronto Video)

It’s been said before that there is very little rappers in today’s industry can do that will be original and completely blow the game away, which means they have to look back and build off of the bricks former MCs have laid already, whether it be a rhyme scheme, a flow or occasionally taking a beat and remastering it. Toronto rapper, Z-Bo did just that on his newly released track and video, “God Bless“, dropping new age bars and incorporating them into an old school flow and hopping on an old school track. This track is pretty dope, paying homage to the classic 1995 Lord Finesse joint, “Hip 2 Da Game“, if you aren’t familiar with the track check it out here, and you’ll realize just how many times you have probably heard a rapper attempt to kick a freestyle to this beat, whether they succeeded or failed is up to you, but Z-Bo, didn’t succumb to the pressure at all. The raw Rexdale rapper, hits you with a more conscious rap, almost taking you back to 1995 with his lyrics. As far as quality goes, they are dope lines, not so much a punch line rap, but more of a knowledge dropping subtle rap. The video is just as subtle, it features Z-Bo kicking it, spitting bars with his team in his neighbourhood and also incorporates scenes with him rapping around Dundas Square in Toronto. The whole project is dope, with a solid track and a just as well put together video, check it out below and be sure to look out for more heat from Z-Bo.
